When we started Jerky Slap, we had a simple vision: to bring premium, healthy snacks to everyone in Canada. We saw an opportunity that was impossible to ignore.
Alberta is home to some of the finest beef in the world. The quality, the care, the tradition—it's all here. Yet when we looked at what people were reaching for at the grocery store, we saw mass-produced snacks that didn't reflect the incredible potential of our province. We knew we could do better.
The snacking landscape felt stuck. Premium quality was treated as a luxury reserved for specialty shops and high-end retailers. Meanwhile, everyday shoppers were settling for convenient but uninspired options from big-box stores. We didn't think that was right. Great snacks shouldn't be hard to find or expensive to enjoy.
That's where Jerky Slap was born. We wanted to create premium beef jerky that was accessible, delicious, and made with the same care and quality that Alberta is known for. We wanted to prove that you don't have to compromise on taste or ingredients just because you're grabbing a snack on the go.
Beyond jerky, we expanded our vision. We opened our snack café in beautiful Sylvan Lake—a stunning lakefront community that embodies the spirit of Alberta tourism and outdoor living. Located at Unit 3, 4920 45 Avenue, our snack café serves premium matcha products alongside our snacks, creating a space where quality meets community. It's a place where locals and visitors alike can experience what premium snacking is really about.
Sylvan Lake felt like the perfect home for us. It's a place where people appreciate quality, nature, and good food. Our café captures that same philosophy—bringing people together over snacks and beverages that actually matter.
